The Weinstein Company acquires Piccolo & SaxoThe Weinstein Company has acquired North American rights to the 3D animated feature PICCOLO, SAXO AND COMPANY based on the best-selling musical children's story. Eric Gutierrez and Marco Villamizar directed the film from a screenplay written by Isabelle De Catalogne and Juliette Sales. Carole Scotta from Haut & Court and Roch Lener from Millimages produced the film. Inspired by the musical works of Andre Popp in 1956, the film tells the story of a far away planet on which musical instruments live. The main characters, Piccolo and Saxo, together with other band members, go on a quest for finding the musical notes and some other instruments that were stolen by an evil doctor who is dreaming to build himself an ideal instrument.
